Lexus ES: Rain Sensor Malfunction (B1400)

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the rain sensor detects an internal malfunction.

  • IG power source voltage is 9.5 V or more
  • Either of the following is detected
    • Rain sensor internal thermistor malfunction detected for 10 seconds or more
    • LED output malfunction detected for 2 seconds or more

PROCEDURE

1.

CLEAR DTC

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Rain and/or Humidity Sensor / Trouble Codes.

(e) Clear the DTCs.

Body Electrical > Rain and/or Humidity Sensor > Clear DTCs

CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Wait 10 seconds or more.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Rain and/or Humidity Sensor / Trouble Codes.

(f) Check for DTCs.
