Lexus ES: Initialization

INITIALIZATION

INITIALIZE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:

Initialization of the luggage closer motor assembly (luggage compartment door initial position learning) is necessary if the following work procedures are performed while the luggage compartment door is open.

  • The cable to the negative (-) battery terminal is connected.
  • A power source system fuse of the power trunk lid system is disconnected and reconnected.
  • The luggage closer motor assembly is replaced or the connectors are disconnected.
  • When the luggage compartment door is opened using a mechanical key.

The power trunk lid system does not operate unless the luggage closer motor assembly is initialized.

HINT:

  • Initialization is not necessary if the above procedures are performed while the luggage compartment door is closed.
  • When disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, some systems need to be initialized after the negative (-) battery terminal is reconnected.
