Lexus ES: Vehicle Control History

VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY

NOTICE:

Make sure to record any output Vehicle Control History codes before clearing them and checking the Vehicle Control History again.

CHECK VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY (FRONT CAMERA SYSTEM)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / Front Recognition Camera / Utility / Vehicle Control History (RoB)

Chassis > Front Recognition Camera > Utility

(e) Read the Vehicle Control History (RoB) according to the display on the Techstream.

The forward recognition camera received a yaw rate sensor malfunction signal from the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly).

Perform troubleshooting for the electronically controlled brake system.

Front Recognition Camera Dirt

System operation was temporarily suspended due to the forward recognition camera not being able to detect objects.

Check if any of the following conditions are met:

  • Non-Lexus genuine front wiper blades are installed
  • The front wiper rubbers are worn
  • A sticker, accessory or other object is obstructing the forward recognition camera
  • There is snow, frost, dirt, dust or oil on the windshield glass, or the windshield glass is fogged up
  • The windshield glass is chipped or cracked
  • Non-Lexus genuine windshield glass is installed
  • Confirm the vehicle was not driven in bad weather (If temporary conditions that affected the camera such as darkness, backlighting, fog, etc. have improved, the displayed warning is cleared).
Factor:
  • The area in front of the forward recognition camera is dirty or obstructed by foreign matter.

Front Recognition Camera Outside Guaranteed Operating Temperature

System operation was temporarily suspended due to the forward recognition camera being excessively hot or cold.

Use the Techstream to check the following front camera system Data List items. If the value is "High Temperature" or "Low Temperature", refer to .

Front Recognition Camera Outside Guaranteed Operating Voltage

System operation was temporarily suspended due to forward recognition camera power source voltage being excessively high or low.

Check the power source voltage of the forward recognition camera (terminal IGB). Refer to for the terminal inspection and standard voltage. If the power source voltage is within the specified range, the forward recognition camera may be malfunctioning.

NOTICE:

By performing this procedure, all stored Vehicle Control History will be cleared.

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / Front Recognition Camera / Utility / Vehicle Control History (RoB)

Chassis > Front Recognition Camera > Utility

(e) Clear the Vehicle Control History (RoB) according to the display on the Techstream.
