PRECAUTION

PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:

  • After the engine switch is turned off, the radio receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 85 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  • When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following systems after the terminal is reconnected.

PRECAUTION FOR AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM

NOTICE:

  • When replacing the radio receiver assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a radio receiver assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:
    • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.
    • The radio receiver assembly may not operate normally.
  • When replacing the DCM (telematics transceiver), be sure to replace it with a new one (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch).

(a) If any of the following parts are replaced, refer to Initialization in Repair Instruction.

  • *1: After replacing the radio receiver assembly of vehicles subscribed to pay-type satellite radio broadcasts, SiriusXM radio ID registration is necessary (w/ SXM Function).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY (a) Install the starter assembly with the 2 bolts. Torque: 46 N·m {469 kgf·cm, 34 ft·lbf} (b) Connect the engine wire to the terminal 30 with the nut. Torque: 9.8 N·m {100 kgf·cm, 87 in·lbf} (c) Close the terminal cap. (d) Connect the starte
