INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Inspect the "Normal" or "Normal/Custom" mode switch:

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection

Condition

Specified Condition

2 (B) - 7 (GND)

"Normal" or "Normal/Custom" mode switch being pushed and held

Below 1 Ω

"Normal" or "Normal/Custom" mode switch not pushed

10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly).

(b) Inspect the "Sport" or "S/S+" mode switch:

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection

Condition

Specified Condition

3 (P) - 7 (GND)

Combination switch assembly knob turned and held at "Sport" or "S/S+" position

Below 1 Ω

Combination switch assembly knob not turned to "Sport" or "S/S+" position

10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly).

(c) Inspect the "Eco" mode switch:

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection

Condition

Specified Condition

6 (ECU) - 7 (GND)

Combination switch assembly knob turned and held at "Eco" position

Below 1 Ω

Combination switch assembly knob not turned to "Eco" position

10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly).

(d) Inspect the illumination:

(1) Apply battery voltage to the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) and check that the switch illuminates.

OK:

Condition

Specified Condition

Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (ILL+)

Battery negative (-) → Terminal 8 (ILL-)

Illuminates

If the result is not as specified, replace the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly).
