PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
(a) Inspect the "Normal" or "Normal/Custom" mode switch:
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance: Tester Connection | Condition | Specified Condition | 2 (B) - 7 (GND) | "Normal" or "Normal/Custom" mode switch being pushed and held | Below 1 Ω | "Normal" or "Normal/Custom" mode switch not pushed | 10 kΩ or higher | If the result is not as specified, replace the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly). | | *a | Component without harness connected (Drive Mode Select Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))
(b) Inspect the "Sport" or "S/S+" mode switch:
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance: Tester Connection | Condition | Specified Condition | 3 (P) - 7 (GND) | Combination switch assembly knob turned and held at "Sport" or "S/S+" position | Below 1 Ω | Combination switch assembly knob not turned to "Sport" or "S/S+" position | 10 kΩ or higher | If the result is not as specified, replace the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly). | | *a | Component without harness connected (Drive Mode Select Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))
(c) Inspect the "Eco" mode switch:
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance: Tester Connection | Condition | Specified Condition | 6 (ECU) - 7 (GND) | Combination switch assembly knob turned and held at "Eco" position | Below 1 Ω | Combination switch assembly knob not turned to "Eco" position | 10 kΩ or higher | If the result is not as specified, replace the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly). | | *a | Component without harness connected (Drive Mode Select Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))
(d) Inspect the illumination:
(1) Apply battery voltage to the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) and check that the switch illuminates. OK: Condition | Specified Condition | Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (ILL+) Battery negative (-) → Terminal 8 (ILL-) | Illuminates | If the result is not as specified, replace the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly). | | *a | Component without harness connected (Drive Mode Select Switch (Combination Switch Assembly))
