Lexus ES: Disassembly

DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE OIL PUMP RELIEF VALVE

(a) Using a 27 mm socket wrench, remove the oil pump relief valve plug from the oil pump cover sub-assembly.

(b) Remove the oil pump relief valve spring and oil pump relief valve from the oil pump cover sub-assembly.

2. REMOVE OIL PUMP COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 5 bolts and oil pump cover sub-assembly from the oil pump body.

3. REMOVE OIL PUMP DRIVEN ROTOR

(a) Remove the oil pump driven rotor from the oil pump regulator ring.

4. REMOVE OIL PUMP REGULATOR RING

(a) Remove the oil pump regulator ring, 2 oil pump regulator vanes, 2 vane springs and oil pump relief valve spring from the oil pump body.
