Lexus ES: Control Module Communication Bus "B" Off Bus Off (U007488,...,U015187)

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) communicates with the following ECUs and sensors via CAN communication.

  • ECM
  • TCM (ECM)
  • Yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly)
  • Steering angle sensor
  • Power steering ECU (rack and pinion power steering gear assembly)
  • Main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)
  • Airbag ECU assembly

The +BS terminal voltage is between 9.6 and 16.5 V, the vehicle speed is 6 km/h (4 mph) or more, and signals cannot be sent to the ECM for 2 seconds or more.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Operate the Techstream to clear the codes. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.

Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs

(d) Press the DTC clear button.

(e) Turn the engine switch off.

(f) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(g) Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.

(h) Check for DTCs.

Result

Proceed to

DTCs for related systems are output together with DTC U007488, U010087, U010187, U012587, U012687, U013187, U014087 or U015187.

DTCs are not output.
