Lexus ES: Rr Sensor Initialization Incomplete (C1AF4)

DESCRIPTION

When it is judged that the rear sensors have not been initialized, the clearance warning ECU assembly stores DTC C1AF4.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • If DTC C1AF4 is output after performing repairs, turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the parking support alert system on to clear the DTC.

  • After replacing an ultrasonic sensor or the clearance warning ECU assembly, perform the necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration).

PROCEDURE

1.

INITIALIZE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR AND REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR

(a) Initialize the rear center ultrasonic sensor and rear corner ultrasonic sensor.

CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Using the Techstream, check for DTCs according to the prompts on the screen.

HINT:

After turning the engine switch from off to on (IG), wait 10 seconds or more before checking for DTCs.
